The Bal Harbour Police Legacy Foundation is a nonprofit organization that aims to bridge the gap between law enforcement and inner-city kids. The Finker-Frenkel Family Foundation recently donated $8,000 to the Bal Harbour Police Legacy Foundation to provide school uniforms, supplies, backpacks and other educational necessities to over 500 local students.

On August 10, just days before the first day of school in Miami-Dade County, the Bal Harbour Police Legacy Foundation hosted its eighth annual back-to-school event, distributing uniforms and backpacks with school supplies to K-8th grade Miami students facing financial hardship. More than 25 members of the community came to volunteer at Bal Harbor Village Hall to fill all 533 backpacks for the eager recipients.

“Education, child welfare, and law enforcement are three of the causes we champion most at the Finker-Frenkel Family Foundation, and this really combines them all,” said Nina Rivay, representative of the Finker-Frenkel Family Foundation. “We consider it our privilege to support the students of our community in this way.”
