One of country music’s biggest stars made some of his littlest fans very happy, stopping by the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital to celebrate the recent opening of another Child Life Zone, a unique state-of-the-art, therapeutic play area for pediatric patients.

Garth Brooks is co-founder of Teammates for Kids, a nonprofit that partners with athletes, corporations and foundations to help children in health, education and inner-city life. Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital boasts the 14th Child Life Zone, joining prestigious hospitals nationwide.

The Finker-Frenkel Family Foundation was proud to have provided a donation principally supporting the expansion of the hospital and the building of the Finker-Frenkel Child Life Zone.

Throughout his career, Garth Brooks has performed to sold-out arenas, but at the visit, he said, ” This is one of the coolest things he’s ever gotten to do.”
