“The Finker-Frenkel Family Foundation has a long-standing history of proudly supporting law enforcement and first responders, both within our local communities and on an international level.”

“Over the years, the Foundation has sought innovative ways to give back to the men and women who protect and serve us—from providing lunches to the Bal Harbor Police and surrounding first responders during the Surfside building collapse, to dedicating efforts in honoring the memories of those who have served, such as Chiefs Mark Overton and Miguel De La Rosa, as well as countless other officers in the South Florida community and beyond.”

Most recently, Foundation Director Eugene Frenkel attended the inaugural Bal Harbour Police Legacy Foundation’s Community Heroes Cocktail and Silent Auction, supporting the BHPD Legacy Foundation’s mission to bridge the gap between law enforcement and inner-city children. Throughout the year, the non-profit engages in meaningful initiatives including back-to-school supply drives, Thanksgiving Dinners, Christmas gifts, and other donations, supporting over 1,200 families each year. This year’s inaugural event was held at Bal Harbour Waterfront Park, the iconic new addition to the Village of Bal Harbour. Along with raising funds, the Bal Harbour Police Legacy Foundationhonored the Finker-Frenkel Foundation with an award, recognizing its unwavering support and generosity towards the Foundation.

Chief Raliegh Flowers Jr. spoke to the impact of the Bal Harbour Police Legacy Foundation’s work, stating, “We started with the idea of blessing those in need…The smiles on the children’s faces are what keeps us motivated to do this.” Sergeant Ronald Smith also expressed his outlook for the future, adding, “We’re looking forward to bigger and better things.”As the Finker-Frenkel Family Foundation continues to support initiatives that uplift our communities, the enduring partnerships with organizations like the Bal Harbour Police Legacy Foundation serve as a reminder of the positive change that can be achieved when community comes together with a shared purpose.
