The Finker-Frenkel Foundation Celebrates a Tradition of Giving at the 42nd Annual Donor Appreciation Luncheon at the University of Miami Herbert Business School

The University of Miami Patti and Allen Herbert Business School recently held its 42^nd Annual Donor Appreciation Luncheon to honor and connect leaders of industry with the bright minds of the future.  

Since 2015, the Finker-Frenkel Family Foundation has been funding scholarships for students at the University of Miami. The Foundation was proud to participate at the luncheon alongside current recipients to celebrate their achievements and reaffirm the Foundation’s commitment to providing exceptional students with educational resources.  

For nearly a century, UMiami’s Business School has cultivated generations of accomplished business leaders. Over the years, many sponsors have provided generous support to students, who, in turn, have launched successful careers, later “paying it forward” themselves. 

The luncheon highlighted the school’s more than 120 named endowments and active scholarship recipients and further offered an opportunity for alumni and parents to immerse themselves in the school’s vibrant community.   

Alumnus Dewayne N. Washington II, wealth management analyst at JPMorgan Chase, explained that a full scholarship allowed him to make his dream career a reality. He also announced the launch of the Dewayne Washington Executive Business Scholarship, designed to give future students at his alma mater a “leg up.”  

Herbert Allen, who along with his late wife, made the naming gift in 2019, remarked that luncheons like this were “the most joyous occasion that my wife Patti and I had the opportunity to attend.” He further pledged to provide students with any support they needed— beyond monetary support—and encouraged students to give back after embarking on their own successful career paths.
