Eugene Frenkel Discusses the World Leadership Forum and Miami as a Business Hub on CNN Switzerland
MIAMI, Fla., November 4, 2019 — Eugene Frenkel, executive director of the Finker-Frenkel Family Foundation, sat down with CNN Switzerland’s Hannah Wise to talk about the growth of the Finker-Frenkel World Leadership Forum and Miami as a destination for innovative, growing businesses.
The Finker-Frenkel World Leadership Forum, in collaboration with the University of Miami Business School, brings tenured world leaders to the University of Miami to inspire and exchange ideas with audiences of motivated future leaders. Past speakers have included former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and former President of Mexico Felipe Calderón.
In the interview, Frenkel discussed the World Leadership Forum’s mission. The World Leadership Forum is designed to advance international dialogue and foster collaboration between individuals of different cultural backgrounds.
When asked what sets the Forum apart from other business conferences, Frenkel said, “When you think about a business conference, the focus is strictly business, strictly the topic of what’s going on at the time. Our focus is on bringing the world together, advancing understanding and working to solve global problems.”
Aided by multiple institutions of higher education, Miami is a burgeoning hub for business, Frenkel added. “We have a booming tech scene and a booming finance scene. You see a lot of companies are moving here because of better regulation and taxation, as well as for our incredible talent pool.”
“The [University of Miami Herbert Business School] is going to a completely different level in terms of the [human capital] talent it is attracting” said Frenkel. “The World Leadership Forum is really a symbol of the direction in which the university is heading to bring top lecturers, top professors and to really become the beacon for Florida educational institutions.”
